Guys I loose the ADSL link whenever there is any fast wind outside. But when BSNL check the line there is no fault because there is no wind at that time what should I do? I know the problem is from the pole from which my line come but that bsnl lineman is so lazy to see it he just picks up the reviever and see SNR and see everything is OK When wind is flowing SNR keeps fluctating from 6-13 and when no wind flows SNR is like 30.3 -31 etcI am thinking of cutting the phone line myself so that he will replace it?Do I have another way to get my line replaced

idea sounds good... it definetly seems to be the problem of a poor telephone line.. try to get him to change the line

if this is true, then just pull the line :p .... It should cut-off from the pole itself

I have the same issue! My telephone cable already has three cuts from the pole to the splitter, and the lineman uses the same line rather than replacing, so I am not too keen on pulling it down and hoping he will fix it properly.I have decided to bear it. :ashamed:

Go to the head of your exchange and explain your problem. Tell him you want the wire from the pole upto your instrument replaced.Maybe he is helpful. I got my wire replaced this way.

This is no big problem. What is happening is that the joints at the telephone pole gets blackened. Due to moisture in the air carbon deposits get deposited on the exposed joints. Do not attempt to cover the joints. All you need to do is cut the line at the joint and re-fix like you would do in your electrical wires in the house. Again, if you have a lot of joints in your telephone line and the SDO is not replacing the same, then purchase the length and specs of the telephone line from the open market and get a local electrician to fix it. Simple.
