What speeds of internet Qualifies as a "Good internet connection" in our country?

The speed will vary no matter how good a connection you have.

You do realize that even the more recent online games do not require a connection faster than a 512 kbps connection to play? Beyond that, it is simply a question of low latency and stability.

Yes I do agree...it's latency that is most imp in gaming...Even Airtel gives horrible latency. In Singapore avg latency is 11msec:ashamed: while latency from my router to airtel server in delhi is 82:(:(:(msec!!!!!!

VSNL aka TATA is guru in latency and streaming media .... also the transfer rates on TATA is quiet stable it doesnt fluctuate much ..

If u tlk about the plan rates and types of plans then Airtel And Bsnl would lead the wayIf u talk about downloading, constant speeds then vsnl is the best although it is quite costly the speeds are so stable

Well, nice question...it really depends on the individual, some people might be even happy wid a 64 Kbps connection and other wud even find it difficult to adjust wid 8 Mbps which is max speed in India( for home users)...Well, i wud be really happy if im provided a 1 mbps Unlimited connection since ur every needs r fulfilled if u r getting 1 mbps..for example u can watch Divx quality movies online without any buffering, youtube and other video sites will be smooth and also heavy downloading wud be like breeze...ohh ya!! forgot to mention that the connection shud be unlimited...whats the use of having 8 Mbps connection with data capped to 4 GB...Its like a Ferrari with 1 litre of petrol.anyway, average connection speed in India is around 256kbps..u might see the numbers shooting up since BSNL is upgrading most connection to 2 Mbps from 256kbpsBut, its not the connection speed that matters..u need to take the quality of the service provider and everything into account before landing into a conclusion.
