Which BSNL modem to buy?

Hello,My MT841 modem is dead. It was giving me headaches since last few days. It used to get disconnected randomly, I thought it was issue from BSNL backend. But, today, the modem is not powering on at all. I tried a lot, but it's not even powering on.Now, that my 4 year old modem is dead, what should I do next? Should I go to BSNL office tomorrow or buy new one from local stores?If I buy new modem from BSNL, will I have to return old one? Will they accept my dead MT841 modem?What modem is the latest and best to buy from local stores?Thanks.

If MT841 was on rental basis BSNL ,may give a new one or substitute modem.If purchased outright condemned.
