Which device to go for? iPhone 5/Galaxy S4/Other

I am planning to buy new device. Features can be less but no compromise in battery life. Which one will be better iPhone 5 or Galaxy s4? I have compared both devices with some sites, iPhone 5 has 8MP camera while S4 has 13MP. Front camera has also same thing. I don't really care but i want a good product, so i will not feel bad after buying it. Never used iOS but used Android before. Friends saying iOS has same features that Android has only we can't customise the home screen which doesn't matter for me. I can wait for iPhone 5S if its really worth.
I have seen the Galaxy S4 thread, where a member got damaged one and samsung not hearing him. So fearing to get that product for myself.

So give your suggestions guys.

iPhone 5 is quite thin, I have seen friends using a good case to enhance the grip otherwise people who drive and stuff, face issues sometimes handling the petty device.
My friend owns both iPhone 5 and S3 and he uses S3 more than iPhone 5, he uses the latter but, as a torch.

you can say that. because i wanted to buy iphone from long time but never got a chance, now buying new device so more interested in it.
but it will be a long wait i think. :/

October-November probably. You can of course get the iPhone 5 rightaway. Use it for the time being. And sell it just before the official launch. It should fetch good money if you time it right.

s3 had some problems, repaired and sold it recently. i can buy some good android device and use it till iPhone 5s comes. buying iphone 5 now will not be a good idea i think.
nexus 4 will be available on shops till this month end?

Yes.. I wont say Android as such, but any low-mid range device should be ok if its a matter of months. Hey, for all you want you can try out the Windows platform as well..
