I am planning to buy new device. Features can be less but no compromise in battery life. Which one will be better iPhone 5 or Galaxy s4? I have compared both devices with some sites, iPhone 5 has 8MP camera while S4 has 13MP. Front camera has also same thing. I don't really care but i want a good product, so i will not feel bad after buying it. Never used iOS but used Android before. Friends saying iOS has same features that Android has only we can't customise the home screen which doesn't matter for me. I can wait for iPhone 5S if its really worth.
I have seen the Galaxy S4 thread, where a member got damaged one and samsung not hearing him. So fearing to get that product for myself.

So give your suggestions guys.

Well they are accepting gift cards and gift certificates? :D
I am not defending Apple here. I am just stating the ground reality. Apple iPhone buyers are likely to have a credit card and I do not see why they would not want to enter the details considering what is the point if they are not going to buy apps etc.
Yes, I see the need to not have this as a compulsory option. And considering it has been like this for many years now, I am imagining that this is intentional from Apple's side.

Back to the original question.
I cannot personally recommend going for an iPhone 5 because of the high price. You should consider getting the S4 if you are reading to spend Rs. 40-45K. Even consider buying the HTC One though I am not sure if it has arrived in India. It should in a few weeks.
Google Nexus 4 is also expected to officially launch in India by the end of this month. But it is a six month old phone so it might not be a good device to go for unless of course you want a pure Android experience without getting into the hassle of rooting your phone and playing with custom MODs. The battery life on N4 is nothing to talk about really. It’s supposed to be mid-range which means terrible if you are a heavy user.
As for the battery life. Android devices are not going to match the battery life of the iPhone simply because they offer more functionality. Widgets running on home screen, apps running in background and so on. They are going to consume battery more battery power. Though you can always think of going for an Android phone with a larger battery like the Note II but then you said you do not need a huge phone.
The decision is for you to make. Also of course, this might not be a good time to buy an iPhone 5 as it is around 6 months old already so it would get outdated in another 6 months. Galaxy S4 would remain Samsung’s primary offering this year with only Note III to come with better specifications in the coming months.

I have never used an iOS device, android has no proper closing option and for which apps runs in the background for long time. iOS has something better for that?

iOS apps do not have an exit option as well. mobile operating systems are designed to manage apps themselves. and some android apps do have proper exit option like airdroid.

Well Apple has been releasing there phones in India in some months after WW release. You can expect 5S to launch sooner than in the past.

oh, i was interested in ios. should i buy an android device now or wait till iPhone 5s, i guess it will come to india till november.
Nexus 4 could launch before the end of the month. Next iPhone would probably take a month or two after international launch. S4 is of course already on sale. HTC One? I am not sure. I would personally recommend One over S4 though.

I guess you have made your mind. If you can wait, wait for the next iPhone to launch in India otherwise you can go for the iphone 5 or iphone 4s.
