Which gaming console is suitable for a 6 year old...

Few years ago, the decision was simple. Get the Nintendo Wii. Today I am not so sure. The idea is to get a console that a six year old can play. Gesture based gaming. Something that requires movement. I am not sure which console is better for such a requirement... PS4 or Xbox One. Of course the pricing of the games does not help the cause. Recommendations and feedback is much appreciated!

PS: The console is not exactly for the kid. The idea is to have a console that even the kid can enjoy with dad and mom.

alrighty!

plus from what i read, the console comes with just one controller? should i ask her to buy an additional one? what other accessories to consider? is the remote of any use here in india? he uses the airtel 4g so i do not expect my brother to start using the xbox one for netflix in the near future.

buy console
buy games
buy extra controller
buy lithium batteries for both controllers

what about internet requirement? i understand that it's needed for downloading games and playing online. apart from that?

Some games have day one patches. So as soon as you put in the disk and install the game, it requires you to download big patches like 10GB . Some games even have 45gb patches but these are rare.

Im sorry I have no idea about small children games but dance revolution was super fun to play with my 10 year old neighbor. And rocket league is also super fun to play with kids.

console gaming is costly here in india but its most easy to set up for adults :) I'd recommend Sony ps4 instead of xbox one if you're not an halo fan.

you forgot about gold membership required to play game online though first month is free. not worth buying controller upfront most of family guy uses kinect only. cntler is for serious gamer.

Dance central spotlight, zoo tycoon and kinect sports rivals.

These three are kinect games, kids friendly.

Beside this buy forza for racing. Rocket league too.

As for remotes, I have multiple remotes for all my consoles but hardly used more than one. I suggest buy second remote if need arises.
