Hi friendz,
Presently I own D-Link DSL 502t modem provided by MTNL. Recently I have bought one Dlink WiFi Modem-cum-Router i.e DSL-2640B (link:D-Link DSL-2640B ADSL2/2+ Modem with Wireless Router), I tried to connect to my system..though not very sure how to do it (...Is there anyone who knows wht all steps do i need to follow to let it work for me????....or do i need to call some technician from MTNL itself???
Thanks so much for replying!!you are right I dont need that modem 502t as I have WiFi modem cum router to replace it...and i need to know how to configure it on my system....I am sure there will be some user and pass will be required from the ISP too....
The user ID and password given by BSNL will be used in either modem.Para ONE:1.Do you use a desktop or laptop ?2.Do not change any settings in DSL502T.3.Check your computer/laptop is working Ok.4. If steps below successful, then reprogramming again will be attempted to eliminate dsl502T.5.Did you download the PDF files ?6. Do you have a CD for the new Modem/WIFI router ?Para two:1.Now remove the RJ45 cable from computer end and connect to the new modem( Internet in or WAN in )2.In IE type 192.168.1.1Id admin password admin3.see the menu4.select any "wizard" automatic programming.5.CHECK you get connected to internet in YOUR LAPTOP. ( there should be a wireless LAN adapter in it )6 Report any progress here.
