Which Modem to buy for MTNL Triband NU plan ???

Yo can go for any one of below

D-Link 502T 1400 (approx)

Dlink 524 4 Port 2275

Linksys WRT54G 4 Port 2450
Linksys WRE54G Wireless-G 4950

Netgear KWGR614 4 Port 1925

ut304r2 or mt882 i would have chosen ut304r2 if i had to choose between Dlink 502t and ut

Go for 4 ports only if you have 2 pc or plan IPTV
 
If you are not sure of MTNL and might wanna try some other broadband in the future then i suggest you go for the MTNL router as they only take rent. So if ever you quit MTNL then your router won't go waste as they only charge 80 Rs. If you still wanna buy then you can go for D-Link or Linksys.
From Jan 09 onwards they charge only Rs. 50/- as rent
Edit on Feb 3: BTW no rent for CPE if you go for unlimited plans.

wat abt extra 100 rupees as safety charge
You mean safe custody charges?
You pay that only if you are going out of station for a few months and want to retain your connection. In that case you inform them and they will only charge you the safe custody charge and not the monthly tariff.

I did not know such a thing existed as a safe custody charge wherein I don't have to pay a month's tariff if I don't use internet for a particular month and continue later on.

even for the wifi one they are charging only 50 bucks !
