speed should be good , coverage is also important most importantly interference with other signal shouldnt be there at any cost

money is not a matter :)

Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router WRT54GL - wireless router

for the above gentleman do we need seperate modem?

when you are buying make sure you buy an "ADSL WIFI ROUTER" not just a WIFI ROUTER.. an ADSL WIFI ROUTER will give you the option to have everything in one, just the way you want it.Netgear is a very good and affordable router..

I am using the BSNL supplied Huawei MT841 since about two years and one desktop with a laptop (wireless) is connected all the time. So, whatever modem with wi fi they supplying right now, should work. For setting up twolaptops, you need to set up the encryption in the modem bios setup. The wireless is only covered around 12-15 mtrs. Cant roam with your laptop in the house.

Netgear DG834G .wireless is accessible from 3rd floor in my house whereas modem is at ground floor. It has an in-built modem . It costs around 3K . Buffalo costs around 3.5K .Both have same features .
