I guess i can give you some idea as i have experience with many services like Hathway Digital Cable
TV/ BIG TV/ Sun direct and now with
Tata Sky.
There are few ways you can decide on go for DTH.
1. Economical
2. Good Service.
3. Channel Count
In Economical you can go for Sun direct. Quality wise Sun direct is OK.. But customer care really sucks. And you may not get the channels which may be in your top ten list.
If you look for Customer service and require a hassle free experience in managing your dth account/quires and issues then go for
Tata Sky or Airtel Digital TV. They are very good in service, prompt response and well developed in Customer service. But the packages are little higher than the rest of the operators. You may get your popular channels may be 6 out of 10.
If you look for channels count and can not miss your favorite channels and more aggressive on watching new channels as in when they lauch., then you may go for Cable TV or Digital Cable TV. However again this Cable TV and Digital cable tv subject to cable tv operators decision on providing the channels. But may be we can have fair count that 9 out of 10 channels in your favorite list you will get.
The worst experience i had with BIG TV customer service.. they are not good in service and you need to struggle for each and everything when you have a requirement to call customer service.., channels wise it is not bad but i can not say it is good. But with DISH TV i do not have experience but i heard from FOURM that the customer care is not fare.
So what you will choose now?????
After reading all the comments, threads and from personal experience i am convinced that corporates are corrupt and money hunters. I know its wrong to generalize but after having numerous bad experiences i believe i am on the right path. I will settle the differences with the cable guy..
i have rarely faced a problem with airtel.
i use them for landline.
i use them for broadband.
and i am now using them for television.
sadly i was not happy with airtel mobile services so i moved to tata indicom which has worked well for me.
Agreed that airtel offers good service and especially BB. To be honest, i never had a single day of connection problems in the past 2 months but i recieved a shock just 3 days ago.. THE BILL. They claim that i have used too much of landline.. I am contacting their nodal office tomo to get it clarified, lemme see what happens. I believe i have made calls but not to an extent to recieve such a massive bill. I am not complaining but just want to get things clarified so that i dont feel abused. :redface: At the end of the day, its hard earned savings..
