If the distance is really 150metres. Its the router u should be worried about ad get n series wireless router preferably from D-Link/Netgear/Belkin and not mtnl cheap wifi router.U can buy Dlink/Netgear/Belkin usb adapters, avoid iball it sucks.I would recommend usb adapter over pci, simply because you can do a lot to extend the range using usb adapter as compared to pci. Finally are u serious dude about 150mts, 150 mtr is a lot.your 1 step is close to 1 mtr so u can get some rough idea .
I've been using Belkin usb wifi adapter......I bought one with the lowest range for about 900 bucks. There were others with more range but i am not sure they can cover 150m . You will need a powerful wifi router for that.
Till a few months back, I was using a Dell USB wifi adaptor (not a dongle) on my desktop to address the same problem - 20 ft, 2 walls - used to work fine. Stopped using it when I formally retired my desktop Only don't know if Dell stuff is available in the market now
I think the confusing regarding 150m need to be solve here.I think he means to say is that his room is of 400 sq ft = 150 meter.and not the exact point to point distance between router and pc.
i bought D-Link G Wirless adpator dw 110 today mtnl guys came i was not there behind me they said at home in desktop pc wireless will won't work and laptop you can use anywhere at house i think he doesn't saw the adaptor & even at home they not said to them it is adaptor connected.Call again to them & told them the problem they said whether u have wireless adaptor i said it was connected to pc i don't know why they didnt see they told whether slot is there in pc i told them it is USB Adaptor
After long days of confusion mtnl net started i have obtained plan of 256 unlimited but right now im getting 2mbps seems to be very very very excellent
