Why airtel allowing banned Chinese routers ?

If you say what you say, Airtel would not do this without the approval of MHA. MHA would be the best place to get your answer.

Not Jio but there are companies that are claiming that these products are "Made in India" and getting paid by various government schemes under make in India and what not. It's insane. Like bruh even the polyethylene casings aren't made here, you can do with at your home now. I really hope that their paper boxes are being made here though.

I also want to avoid Chinese products but can't you know why Because there aren't any reasonably priced alternatives for electronics atleast. Similarly Companies like Jio and Airtel use Chinese stuff to be affordable...

Not related, but almost all the IoT devices used inside smart ACs, Bulb, etc. are Made in China only. Blue Star is an Indian company and even their Smart product uses only Chinese network IoT components.
So the argument of not using Chinese products is totally invalid.

Yes, the valid argument is- ZTE is banned to do business in the US and that is based on their internal reviews and audit. So Indian Govt should also do their task and review them. There should be no argument whether they are Chinese or Indian.

Indian ISP's are not going to change ONT as ONU is already Chinese either ZTE or Huawei so if they use other ont then some changes in firmware would be required along with testing
