Why no unlimited plans for Mobile internet

While Jio fiber offers unlimited plans, why aint there unlimited plans for the mobile internet.

I know they do offer unlimited internet with 512kbps speed post the 2gb per day limit, but why is there 2 gb cap per day, why cant it be unlimited like the broadband plans?

Spectrum or the resource needed for mobile data is not unlimited. It would be very wrong to compare that wifi has more spectrum than mobile data.

Do note that the operators had to plead with the military to release some of the spectrum for the sub6 frequency so that they can provide decent internet to the people under 5G

The demand-supply mismatch in our country simply makes it impossible to provide unlimited internet. To put it into perspective, doing so will simply deprive the others from using the net when someone is hogging the bandwidth with unlimited net.

All of the above @Tejas01 mentioned and plus,

• Indians are more likely to abuse things.
• TRAI does not allow fixed speeds or low prioritization speeds on wireless.
• TRAI also does not like, fixed GB prioritized speeds. I think Airtel had introduced this once, which they had to discontinue.

The plans you mentioned above is technically unlimited since after 2GB, the internet will still work at 128kbps.
This should be raised as well, but according to TRAI on wireless 128kbps is broadband.

@shouvik Jio and VI do have Unlimited internet plans but they are limited to Postpaid only.

@shouvik JIO Fiber broadband plans don't come with Unlimited. All of there plans are Cap to 3.3TB Usage (3300 GB Usage per month) both for Prepaid & Postpaid. Although normal people can't use 3.3TB in monthly that's why they use 'Unlimited Data' to get more customers and think they have unlimited data (Marketing Strategy).

Did jio stop providing 5g data? It seems like capped at 2.5gb since last two days

In my jio yesterday it was showing 0gb out of 2.5gb. Now it shows 1.5gb out of 1.5 gb. I am kind of confused

@Zuke what happens after 24 gb used previously it was written unlimited nothing like this I also noticed the same with my plan. Are they going to limit no more unlimited downloads?
