We have Syrotech, Optilink etc. Desi Chinese fusion brands. Why we don't have brands like TP-Link etc. In consumer Fiber ONT space? Any compatibility issue? Or it's just they are too lazy to start doing it? Also why don't we see TP Link AX-1800 GPON variant? Or other models in GPON? Is it due to it's fiber reciever getting damaged or it's too fragile or a hastle to deal with? I've seen a lot of guys dealing with bad ONU's as they don't have any option apart from these unknown brands.

- ISPs like Airtel, Jio and TataPlay buy these ONU/ONTs in bulk. So they get them for dirt cheap and deep discounts with customized firmware
- Custom ONU/ONT allow companies total control over their customer's home network.
- 99% Customers are not interested in what ONU/ONT they are using as long as they are getting wifi signal on their device
- ONU/ONT compatibility with OLT is a headache which ISPs so they will prefer their own.
