WiFi speed very slow on laptop but not with LAN

I am facing a weird issue for past few days or weeks. The WiFi speed on my laptop is getting very low and it starts buffering even on YouTube but when I connect with LAN everything works fine. I tried to change the DNS to 8.8.8.8 but that didn't solve the problem. What next can I do?

Does your wifi chip support dual band.. I.e. 2.4 and 5 ghz frequency?

No it was a simple single band iball router that the LCO gave. Will going for a dual band router solve the issue?

I meant wifi frequency on your laptop. The wifi on laptop should support 5gz to use speeds in excess of 50mbps.
What is the speed you have subscribed for? How much do you get when you connect laptop with ethernet cable.

My subscribed speed is 20 Mbps. I get full speed via LAN and around half with wifi. It's happening recently only for past few weeks

Your iball router should easily transmit 20 Mbps. Try hard resetting the router, changing wifi channel.
If nothing works buy a cheap N300 router.

Also I noticed the slow speed is present only on laptop but on other devices like mobile, TV it's working fine.

That singles out the issue is with laptop or the wifi adaptor in laptop. Hope others can chime in too.
