Will Elephone P8000 work with Airtel Bangalore?

Hi,

I am interested in buying Elephone P8000 phone (yet to launch in India but they say imminent)
Since I have lost my previous phone I am in a bit of rush to buy. It is available on gearbest.com and can get it shipped to India. I want to confirm that the phone supports the required bands.
It says, the phone supports following bands:
Network type: GSM+WCDMA+FDD-LTE
2G: GSM 850/900/1800MHz
3G: WCDMA 900/2100MHz
4G: FDD-LTE 800/1800/2600MHz

From what I googled, Airtel Bangalore is on Band 40 (TDD 2300 Mhz). Whereas Chennai/NCR is on Band 3 (FDD 1800 Mhz).

So in short, the phone will not work with Airtel in Bangalore for 4G services but other services (2G/3G) will work fine. And 4G will work with other operators (Vodafone, Idea, Reliance Jio)

Is my understanding correct?

Since TDD-LTE is not in your list, so it will not work with Reliance Jio which will have TDD-LTE network in all circles. If FDD-LTE in 1800 MHz band is launched by Jio in some circles, it will work in those cities.

Can't say which band idea and vodafone will use. There is no official announcement from them yet, we can only guess about them looking at spectrum auction results.

Bottomline: If you are looking to use 4G in future then buy a mobile which has TDD-LTE support.
