One Sund Direct dealer in calicut told me that Surya Tv Kiran Tv now available in C band as FTA chennels will become paychannel from 01/01/2008 onwards and have to subscribe any dth Services like DishTV Tata Sky on SunDirect to watch these channels Presently all malayalam channels are FTA and we are able to watch all these channles in crystal quality when compared to DTH and the cost is around 2k the price of 6ft dish and two c band lnb + installation chargeis it true

only surya and kiran are fta now from sun network so we can expect the change very soon most of the southern regional channels are now pay channels except kerala and some tamil channels

Mr.Kalanidhi Maran once commented in statement about their plan to switch over Surya Tv to Pay mode, but they didn't finalized the exact date of it. They are about start First Malayalam Kids Channel in 2008. In future we can expect Surya in Pay Mode. Slowly some other channels also will follow.

i dont think so because most of the viwers are connected to cable not through their own dish antenna so cable operaters will provide this 2 channelsand all other channels are looking for a channel to be in pay mode so they can also convert to pay(additional income) if all southern channels become pay the ultimate loser is hindi belt channels
