nothing is freei will buy vista with free win7 upgrade for usd 110 today.vista will be used in desktop and upgrade will be used in my existing laptop which is vista preactivated. i confirmed in newegg forum. they said it will work.

have you confirmed that you can use the upgrade edition on an OEM copy of Vista? this should be possible technically.

I think you have missed the WIN7 even after winning it, as you didnt chkd the status at houseparty. Some formalities had to be completed I guess.

Update - got a meesage that they have shipped the packet. Waiting for the surprise... friends... I got Windows 7 from Microsoft. the packet contains the windows 7 ultimate edition both 32 and 64 bit versions, a jigsaw puzzle, a bunch of carry bags with window 7 logo and design, some instructions, windows 7 tissues , a giant wallposter on windows 7. :inodding:I have installed windows 7 64 bit version and amazingly its fast. Startup and shutdown times compared to Vista is superb. I am yet to explore more features, as I need to setup my net connection in it. I am using BSNL EVDO and the software is showing some error in Windows 7. I will fix it, upgrade the software and start inviting my friends for the launch party.
