Check with the battery capacity of gram. The last I recall with dated intel 8th gen processor had 72Wh, which was pretty massive. I think Jerryrigs had done an unboxing, breakdown and abuse in real life to check if it stood upto it's claims and it did. If you have more than 72 wh, then you will get good life which can be close to 10 hours.
Btw, it depends on how you push it. Intensive tasks will pull down your battery, be it intel, amd or M1.

Don't want to be a downer, but comparing windows and macs would be inappropriate given how closed system Apple is known to be.
Also, as Vishalrao pointed out, these numbers are for advertisement purposes, numbers based on lab testing or running in a controlled environment. Your closest bet in Windows ecosystem would be Gram series. Rest are all talk.

That non upgradability is a serious bummer. I mean, why disable that feature when you are already paying that much.
I had a friend of mine who got a previous gen gram laptop, upgraded his ssd to 1tb(5+5) and ram to 16gb(8+8) before leaving India. All done from Nehru place.

I suggest to increase your budget and get M1 with student discount it comes at around 83k. At that price it's real value for money. My bro got it for web development and it's really good.

P.s: M1 is getting sold like hot cakes. Right now except Apple official store all other stores near my home in Bangalore out of stock and have wait time of 2-3 days to get laptop. Even apple website have delivery date of 15-20 days. Store ppl say its a fast moving product
