Wisdom tooth extraction!

my third molar has now decayed but i am too scared to get it operated.It will be like a operation.Right now i use toothpicks to remove the food particles.So anyone tell me how much us the pain during and after extraction?
 
Have no fear! Under local anaesthetic, it will be off in no time. Slight pain for a day or two after the numbness wears off. Liquid diet for a day to avoid accidental loading.Most important; your native wisdom will still be intact!!! You will be allowed to post.
 
nothing to worry... got my third molar(lower) extracted a month back. The tooth was half-decayed. still there was no pain after extraction; the pain killers did the job.. slight swelling after the 2nd day which subsided after 4 days. :yahoo:
 
When was the last time you had a tooth extracted warthig ?
never and thats why i am concerned.I cannot image the pain when the doctor injects the anesthetic in my gums.


dammit i hate wisdom tooth.


srk006 can you tell me how were you feeling during the operation?
 
^^ There was actually no feeling at all. The only thing you feel is the prick of the anesthesia. Then numbness crept in and you won't feel any pain. Just go for it.. It's an experience :clap:
 

The problem comes if the tooth wasn't removed properly, it happened to me once. A part of my tooth that was supposed to be removed got lodged into the gum. If that happens once the anesthesia wears off it would hurt like hell.

Don't worry, I have got it done, and I felt pain (just for a minute) only when got injected in gum for anaesthesia. After that when doctor was operating I didnt felt anything and never realised when my tooth was removed. :happy:

omg it must have hurt like hell.If this were USA i would have sued the doctor.anyways share your wisdom tooth extraction and all other wisdomers too!
