To celebrate World Oceans Day, Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson, one of the most influential marine biologists of our time, sat down with Neil Davé, General Manager of Tidal—a team at X whose mission is to protect our ocean while feeding humanity sustainably. They discussed the challenges facing our oceans, how technology can play a role to help solve some of them, and the critical role people, communities, and governments play in finding lasting solutions.
Dr. Johnson recently wrote an op-ed covering some of these topics in the Washington Post titled, "I’m a black climate expert. Racism derails our efforts to save the planet".
This is part of a wider series of talks at X where Xers get to ask leading thinkers and doers some of their burning questions to help unlock fresh perspectives and new ideas for solving some of the world’s biggest challenges.
