Xiaomi got stuck in a bootloop

A friend of mine is having a Mi device(Xiaomi Mi 4i). While it was updating a year back ...the phone got automatically stuck in a Bootloop(Device restarting multiple times at Start screen(Mi logo) . As this is not a hardware fault or software fault on the user side , How do i proceed in this case .
As this phone was launched few years back , Xiaomi doesnt provide any support for this currently . It is brand new without a scratch on its body .

Have you tried a factory reset from recovery? If not, try that. Data will be lost though.

Power + Vol Up is the key combination from what I see.

If that doesn't work it might need a firmware reflash.

I do not care about the data .
Have done all the possible ways from firmware flash to normal reset in Recovery mode. Nothing helps bro
