Xp takes too much time in booting

can anyone plz help....
I m using Xp service pack 2..
assembled pc Config...
core2duo processor 1.8Ghz
ram 512mb X 2
160gb hdd seagate
intel original 945 motherboard
samsung dvd writer......

when booting.....xp takes too much time.....
I mean........After starting Pc...
The xp logo comes...and under that logo...a line moves that shows processing.....
it moves 12-13 times....:(everytime i start my pc.........
i saw with other computers it moves only 2-3 times.....
i dont know why it takes that much time even i have good configuration:wall:

Plz help..........
 
if using intel mb, try intel application accelerator (for the DMA mode thing).rest, search for blackviper list of services for xp on google and disable any faltu services after reading it! :)
 
hi dude,this some time is due to the antivirus software i have experienced itwhen i do not install the antivirus it takes 20-25 seconds to boot but when antivirus is installed it takes 40-50 seconds config goes like this256 mb ram2.4 ghz processor speed40 GB HDD
