These idiots created such a system that now I can't login into my own account.
They have app called yes secure to generate offline otp for transactions. I configured the app few months back and since then I formatted my phone many times and didn't install/configured that app again. And also didn't used netbanking, only upi and mobile banking. Now the situation is that yesterday I tried to login into my account and it says password expired generate new one. K proceed further just to know that I will be required otp fro that app and the app can't generate otp until I configure it through netbanking.
And there is no option to get otp on mobile or email, as they stated that after configuring that app I will no logner receive otp over mobile/ivr/email.
So can't do anything. I am afraid that Probably need to close the account as I have read many such type of complaints on google play store review unresolved for long.

You will have to go to branch to generate new password and reset of mfa.
This is common with other banks and service providers.
Like for Zoho, if you activate app notification as MFA and there is no backup, you will have to contact support with ID proofs, invoice to receive a one time backup code to login and reset MFA. Resetting MFA is always a tedious process so that no one takes over your account.
Unfortunately, here it's not the bank but you are at fault. You need to understand the benefits and drawbacks of service you opt for before subscribing to it.
The authentication app was intended to be use even when there is no mobile signal ie offline. There should be an option to recieve otp on alternate media like any other mfa system on the planet I have seen. This is the first time I have seen such bizzare implementation.
