Zee Dish TV DTH: Neo Cricket and Neo Sport????

I dont see the connection. I dont like hockey much , and hence dont watch it much, but I am happy whenever India does well in hockey. Just because one does not know much about the national sport , does not make him any less IndianJust let me know if you know the all things that are said as national - like national bird, national flower etc etc
 
Cricket should have been our National game (no offence to hockey players, fans & supporters). As I have once read somewhere that Cricket is the sport suited to Indian sub-continent. Indian are very passionate about team games & also like to idolise the heros which cricket offers. Then Indian (at earlier times, may be not now) had lots of time & relaxed laid back life, so could afford to spend 5 days (or whole day for ODI) watching cricket. On the contrary countries like US, France, Germany, Russia had fast paced life and couldnt give so long dedicated time to cricket (though their interest has started building up with T20)

But about NEO, it do offers Indian Cricket & more then cricket too. It would be always good to have a channel like NEO for sports lovers
 
ahem. a national game where we suck? a national game which is played by like 5 countries around the world?hockey used to be THE game till the time kapil dev and his devils won the world cup for us in 1983. before that no one cared about cricket. india could not win another hockey gold after 1980. so the public remained stuck with cricket.
 
National identity cannot be decided on its global presence. Same would be applied to Tiger, Lotus, Peacock or Mango (National Portal of India : Know India : National Symbols) who don't have much global presence.
Similarly national game cannot be decided on its global popularity, even Kabbadi can be declared as National game though it is only played in India only (some Asian countries now play it).
And about passion towards Cricket, it was always there right from before independence (may be colonial influence), just 1983 world cup win made it most popular. And if not the best, India was also never far behind in Cricket
 
india is the best in kabaddi. reason being, no other country gives a shit about it.

Hi Guys Its very difficult to say the time.. when NeO Channels are available in Dishtv.. But we must say that it will be available but it depends on the stretegy of dishtv officials..Dishtv cc is not responsible..they are saying yes we r trying to add and one of them saying no way to add these channel.. they are not adding star majjha also.. Tata Sky is better now.. but Digitaltv from Airtel will rock with in a year.
 
Why have created a new thread ? since there is long list of the same thread MR shib. please share opinion if there the same topic already exists
