Zee Dish TV STB hanging problem

Past few months I'm facing this peculiar problem of STB hanging. To describe my problem, no matter on which channel I am at and say I press the channel info button or chanel change or the volume button on my remote, the picture freezes and then none of my remote buttons are functional nor is the STB, even the power button does not work if I have to switch off the STB. The only option left for me is to switch OFF / ON the main switch (power cycle). The problem is solved, but then after a few hours again it happens. The frequency is around 6-7 times a day.Can you please let me know if you guys are facing or had faced in the past the same problem?What is the reason for this and the solution?Please let me know.

There is no solution for this problem. I had an old Kaon STB which used to do this frequently. It was very annoying. I called customer service and they told me to upgrade the box. I now have a Zenega box. I still get STB hangs. But the frequency is around 1-2 a week. I think the software on these STBs has some serious quality issues. The really really frustrating part is that the remote completely freezes. You have to do a hard reboot.

I too had same problem. I took for service center and called CC but no use. Then i went back and started using cable connection now. No issues quality is good.Now cable wala providing best service as they had worst experience in their past due to poor customer support. Now for Rs 100/- i get almost all the channels. I'm happy guys.ThanksBala

My dish twice installed by engineers but never I found that they comes with a satellite finder. Anybody of you see a dish tv engineer has satellite finder? Manual dish pointing cant give satisfied signal strength. Now my dish tv get 74% signal strength & old was 80%.
