BSNL 3G is now offering unlimited data for Rs. 1099 (Rs. 156 for 2GB/Rs. 549 for 10GB)

@Bsnl Super User & @Saurabh Srivastava Thanks for your help. I did the recharge through main balance after topping up. As far as speeds go I get around 1-2 Mbps. Pages take a bit of time to open. I have to hang my Huawei 173 outside a window (susceptible to theft) through an extension cable just to get 3g signals. I think I'll need a dongle with external antenna slot to improve reception.

I use the same Huawei e8231 wingle and the 192.168. page shows 5 greeen bars and 3G written below it. I dont understand why am I not getting H+ speeds. Will using a USB extender and hanging the wingle outside help or it wont make much difference since I already get 5 bars
The best thing you could do is to put your BSNL sim in a 21.1Mbps 3G supported smart phone and try to check speed at various places inside your house and terrace, On connection your mobile may get 3G or 3G+ Icon which on data usage may change to H or H+ eventually based on the BTS present in your location. So first try this inside you house then near windows and terrace, Once you get H+ sign means you are done with the exploration( Note H+ symbol will change to 3G once the data usage activity stops). Also take note of the signal strength , Now put you sim back in Huawei E 8231 and place the Datacard at the exact place, If your datacable/power chord for powering datacard aren't long enough/near to HSPA+ spot then you could use a power bank. Why I am asking you to do this ? Because Huawei don't show H+ manually it will show 3G only ( Even though it's under H+ signal ) under WCDMA mode, so you need to use you mobile in this case.

If I use my sim in OnePlus one it always shows H/H+ never has it shown 3G. Anyway I am pretty sure I am getting H+ speeds cause yesterday I check my transfer rates it goes upto 1mbps not constant though. Fluctuates between 500kbps to 1mbps.

I live in Nagpur no idea about high population density I dont live in a village though. How much do you get in transfer rates?

Its around 6-13Mbps D/L and 2-4Mbps U/L when placed in LOS with BTS otherwise inside speed is 2-6Mbps D/L . So, whenever I use BSNL 3G, I place it in terrace.

I get around 6-7 mbps D/L & 1-2 mbps U/L and i live in outer area in Nagpur. Day time the speed fluctuates very little during night its constant.

Using BSNL 1099 from last 3 days. In the first day, I got speeds ranging from 450KB to 700KB easily. I downloaded around 5 GB on the first day.

One the second day, I keep getting speed ranging from 150KB to 220KB.

Today is the third day and I am still getting download speeds from 150KB to 220KB.

BSNL 1099 is NOT RECOMMENDED. They definitely limit the speeds and it is not 'without any speed limits' as advertised. I also faced the following issues:

1) The Internet automatically disconnects after you have consumed around 1-1.5GB of data in one go. You have to manually reconnect.

2) Sometimes the 3G fails to connect and you have to keep trying atleast 5-6 times to get it connected.

I am very disappointed in this plan. I have a broadband which gives me 2MBps, I thought I will get atleast 4mbps continuous with the 1099 plan but I barely get 2mbps.

I live in Nagpur.I am getting near 9 mpbs speed.
Downloading speeds are 900 kpbs to 1 mpbs and in night its 1.2 mpbs to 2.0 mpbs speed.
Yeah when u download upto 2044 mb it resets and give message that annoys me very much.
If u downloading from site that doesnt support downloading resume then you are doomed :(
