I feel like high speed LTE will be beneficial only when daily data limits give way to monthly FUP limits. Of course, by monthly limit, I refer to a sizeable amount, such as upwards of 10GB a month.
I live in a village where I have direct line-of-sight with Airtel and Jio towers, with close proximity. Airtel's speed is upwards of 25mbps and at times (aka rarely) cross 50mbps using band 40+40 CA. On Airtel, I had to bring down the speed to single digit using USB tethering (via a Mikrotikrouter), in order to save bandwidth and thus FUP while watching tech videos.
In another village, my house is in the middle of 4 Airtel towers. And the connection (between mobile and 4g tower) jumps between all four towers for every minute (as an example). I hardly get 1mbps in that case. As a side-note, I am getting a BSNL fiber soon in that village. So, I no longer worry about jumping between 4g towers in that village.
Basically, the 50mbps speed is achievable on any 4g network with proper conditions (like direct line-of-sight, lack of congestion, bands available, CA, MIMO, QAM, etc).
Anyone who wants to try 100 Mbps+ on 4G+ can try doing speedtest in newer underground metro stations whenever they are travelling(one i have tried is magneta line)
Was able to get 100+ Mbps on 4-5 stations i tried on Airtel
Not related to previous post but this is what I got at various locations in Delhi and Gurgaon on Airtel on my OnePlus 7 (mostly on carrier aggregation)
Pretty damm impressive IMO
