VoWiFi Support in Airplane Mode

@thadougamer I don't think you have enabled airplane mode. Enable it first then try to place a call to see if it works.
Update - The screenshot was different when I commented.

So, there is nothing special with iPhones. Whether VoWiFi works in Airplane mode or not depends on the carrier.

VoWiFi switching seamlessly to VoLTE during call if you disconnect wifi? call drop if i disconnect wifi, it also take 30+ seconds to switch to VoLTE properly. OnePlus 5.
