I am thinking about getting a fibernet connection from ACT. Anyone want to share their experience about speed, downtime, service etc. One more thing if anyone can clear that - is it a prepaid or a postpaid connection? Do I hv to pay if I don't recharge for few days. Thanx in advance, hope anyone will help me this tym.

It is prepaid. As far as performance goes, I can say go ahead with it. I have kept both ACT and Airtel with me for past 1 year with Airtel also getting upgraded to fiber last month, but still ACT is performing better. Airtel is surely having some teething problems right now which ACT also had in the initial months, so let us give them some time. The major downside of ACT has been no truly unlimited plans and even if there are plans with very high data limit, they are very expensive. At present, cost wise, ACT is even expensive than Airtel if you do math for big data user like me.

Its mix of prepaid and postpaid. They ll take advance payment making you think it as prepaid but after making payment they'll generate advance prepaid invoice on every 1st from second month onwards. A very confusing thing.

Thanx @Sam27 and @igloo. I think I should go for ACT. Its seems better option than JioFiber. Few more things, if you guys could clear, how easy was the installation process for you guys, few reviews on internet say that they take money and neither they give connection nor the refund, is it true?
One out of league question. Any idea about live TV on streaming device?☺️
But seriously thanx for helping me in taking decision.

@Thorden , I had ACT connection done when they had just launched in Lucknow, i.e., March 2019. I remember finding out in some news that ACT has launched in Lucknow around March first week. A few days later, I found ACT guys wiring in my area. With them were some sales guys with brochures of plans, etc. I asked them for new connection and they told me if I can pay initial amount that day itself, connection will be done in 3-4 days. I along with some of my neighbors were till then pissed off with Airtel DSL or BSNL slow speeds. I immediately paid them 1800 in total which included one month advance plus installation charges and 3 of my neighbors told them to come a few days later. Anyhow, I remember it was 3 days later when they came up with their team and completed all the work for me along with 3 of my neighbors. All 4 of us have similar positive reviews about ACT.

Another member of our forum, @sid.teche , who lives around 1.5 kms from my house, had got his connection this smoothly in September or October of last year also. Mutually, we had decided that I will refer him for new connection so that I can get 25% off on that month's bill. Now, @sid.teche can refer you this time.

I do run Amazon Prime, Hotstar, YT, etc., on my TV through ACT at full HD and so far, they run smoothly without any lags or buffering.

You can DM me and pass your phone number, if you want to have a voice call for more insight.

So all the months of inactivity adds up?
