Hi, what is the status of 4g in metropolitan city Chennai. Any guess

Hi, My city is still in 3g, waiting for 4g.
Being a metropolitan city, i do not know, how chennai is still not having 4g services.
Any idea, when this city will get the 4g facility.
Sim was supplied long back by bsnl centre
 
Coupled with the pandemic and various hurdles within the administration itself, you can pretty much forget about BSNL 4G launching in a full fledged manner.
 
I called BSNL Customer Care for my state Karnataka . They have just supplied sim as of now . BSNL Customer Care has only 4-5 districts enabled with 4G right now out of the 30 districts in Karnataka . BSNL has stalled their 4G equipment install due to the Covid pandemic . They are currently not upgrading to 4G towers across India . This is will start after the pandemic is over (completely), as told by a BSNL official

BSNL has also friction due to the purchase of Huawei and ZTE Equipment
being used as transmitters. Govt has given a directive to stop its usage. This will surely delay it if they follow government order and start replacing

There is no specific date for the launch in the coming 4-5 months . So you should change your plans if expecting a 4G service with BSNL.
 
Hi, what is the present position in Chennai. Will Bsnl have 4g in chennai at all. Yesterday, I received a sms for customer open session, quoting email,whatsapp and sms mode. i selected whatsapp mode and wrote to them. No response. i even called them over the whatsapp number. Still there was no response. Double tick is also not on whatsapp chat.
Why BSNL is still delaying 4g. I think , I have to change my service provider as the last resort

I'm genuinely surprised you stayed with BSNL this long if 4g was important to you. MNP is a thing, you can also port back if you really want BSNL if they ever roll out 4g.
 
Hi, Adithya, thanks for yout tips. But BSNL service is the best as far as i could think from the start. It is a public sector company also which needs stimulus in tight competition. That is the reason for my BSNL preference.
Would you give the status, of my city getting the 4g. Has the tendereing process and allotment of specturm done.
or is there still impediments in the process
The service people are excellent in attending to the calls of the people and i get promised speed from the service provider.
 
Nothing I know of, BSNL is silent most of the times. They'd only announce once it's rolled out widely in a particular area. We have it in 3 districts in Kerala, but not where I live.

I am using bsnl 4g from kerala . I must say we won't get any signal indoor if at all it will be one or 2 bars. Otherwise its fairly usable .This was not case when they were having h+ plus signal , I can get 3g signal consistently in indoors
