it still does not make sense why the charger for 8T would overheat the phone so much that it would not even take photos. especially considering the phone has two batteries so charging is distributed.

Both uses Warp Charge 65. Yup, doesn't make any sense on why an 8T charger would heat up 9 series since the charger should basically be the same.

Nevermind, OnePlus 9 uses something called Warp Charge 65T. But it should still be backward compatible.

Saw in some review by a youtuber that while using camera OnePlus 9 pro was too hot to touch near camera area.

Either its processor over heating or software bug. Wait for a month or so and see if its a hardware issue or not

I have read somewhere that unlike Qualcomm Quick Charge where the chipset does all the magic, OnePlus technology is quite different . The chargers themselves have the Circuit built-in (Bulky af) for Fast charging . So this should actually leave no room for a phone heating up .

That is why if we buy Oneplus phones , it wont support Qualcomm Quick Charge compatible Car chargers . And the one from Oneplus without cable costs 3K . And it is just 30 watts
This is quite a scam . Even Apple chargers do not cost that much.

I thought starting from 8 they do support USB PD charging as well in addition to their proprietary charging. Though only at a max of 27W

all androids have to support usb-pd. that's a google's requirement.
