What latency you guys are getting in hotstar , Its LIVE is no more live for me

@Joyous it's only 5mbps max yep its jittery I watch it on laptop so mine is not that pixelated . If you watch it using >32" TV's you can easily notice the picture compression . It's India bro what can you expect , they want to save money on everything .

Yep I seriously thought Amazon should have bought the rights for digital streaming. Their transit is also huge for that much demand
They can leverage the advantage of owning Twitch for a long time

As Hotstar uses AWS for backend , it is going to be pretty costly for them

Interesting. On Hotstar LG tv app i am getting 5.97 average bitrate.
Ping to hotstar.com is 7 ms
Live latency is like 16-20

5.97is not enough for smooth sports streaming. The ball movement will be jittery. 12-20mbps is needed.

@Joyous try turning off your TV's anti-aliasing and motion blur features. Those were good features for interlaced video but they don't really do a good job with deinterlaced or progressive video, which is typical on OTT apps.

I had disabled everything in post processing of picture modes of tv. Just enabled one option : natural true motion and everything seems smooth

VIP gets 720p, and premium subscribers get 1080p, according to their website.

For content supporting Dolby Vision, I've seen bit rate around 22 Mbps or so.

For others, the max I saw was 5 7 for cricket I think. For others it's around 3+
