I am also seriously considering this phone, but not sure if it will have any kind of unlocking/root access.

I love how i have prolonged the life of my k20 pro with a simple swapram magisk module, which has given me some extra RAM, all the while running A12.

For sure! I like the Asus flip design even more because you can use your main sensor for everything.

What made you pick this?

It seems to be the only reasonable under 50K phone out there right now. Though I would probably wait for it to get under 40K. I would love to get another Samsung but the debacle with the S20FE was too annoying and they keep on removing features from the FE series.

What I like about this phone? Seems to have a great display, reasonable camera, pretty solid charging speeds. Includes the charger in box. Also comes with basic screenguard and case in box.

What I don’t like? QI charging is missing but I guess 65w fast charging would compensate for that. Not a fan of in-display fingerprint sensor. Checked online and it has the shitty optical one. Not water proof like Samsung devices.

I bought a Realme 9 Pro for mom so I have seen their Android 12 implementation and it is quite decent. So, software is not the problem. I would miss the Samsung Dialer and Samsung Pay but at this point of time, it is not really that important for me.

I'm also looking at under 50k options. I had my eyes on the S20 FE 5G as well but after reading your Wifi fiasco thread and Samsung still manufacturing smartphones with 25W charging in 2021, I changed my mind. I guess the Wifi issue has still not been resolved.
Iqoo 9 seems to be the only decent option in this segment. Only if they allowed unlocking the bootloader would have bought it by now. Don't know why they don't.
Waiting for the Xiaomi 12 series now.

@Sushubh can you please check if you can set a 3rd party msg app as default app? And what is the level of unwanted apps?
My mom has a 2yr old realme phone which currently running android 11. It has shit tons of bloat and the issue of 3rd party msg apps can't be set to default.
