Airtel counting upload in the 3333 GB FUP

In the past, I have used/abused Airtel not counting upload in the FUP, uploading 100 or so TiB over the course of a few months. I had to get my airtel connection disconnected due to them not supporting my area but now I am back to using their services. As before, I tried to upload a few terabytes and woke up a few days after my connection with my speed limited to 1Mb/s upload and download. I talked to both an engineer and the backend team and they both confirmed that I had used up all the data in the FUP and had to wait for the data to reset next month. The only option provided to me was to buy more data to continue using their services

@Fiery_Eagle954 , please remember that 3.3 TB traffic means just that..total traffic both in and out after which it downgrades to the FUP speed as specified for your plan. Please do not think it is only applicable to download traffic. All ISPs follow this rule. Data on pack on mobile phone also does the same thing though we do not do much uploading using those devices.

@Chip Like I said, previously I have uploaded multiple terabits of data every month on the same plan. I did have a static IP before which I don't have now, maybe that makes a difference?

I'm big into torrenting. Private trackers can really suck up your bandwidth. I also seed games for the game repacker DODI

Can't answer that question with any certainity because though I use a static IP on Airtel I do not consume all bandwidth as my router is set to load balance across 2 WAN connections. I use pvt. trackers too.

Thing is, going by the contract they have the right to reduce speeds once you cross the FUP limit. Hey, dude, you're paying for 3.3 TB (more or less a standard across ISPs) but were using more in the recent past and now they discovered it and flagged the account. As @Lolita_Magnum suggests just get a seedbox and free yourself of these limits.

Ye.. Just below this post in the similar threads section, I see posts from 2011 from people shocked to find that airtel includes uploads in FUP calculation hah
