Yes, the phone (D802 - International Variant) is capable of 4G, I used it in HK, but I don't think it supports the 4G band used in India (2300 Mhz). It would be pretty strange if it did and they had disabled it in 4.2

i have a phone that supports LTE as well..but the bands are different...mine is 700MHZ
currently deployed LTE works on 2300MHZ in India...

Well, these guys convinced me that i could use Airtel or other 4g in India when launched - will try to research more on this when i have some time

Did anyone else in India get this update.... no sign on OTA or via LG PC Sync :(

It supports Indian band which is Band 40 (2300 Mhz TDD LTE)

It is there in secret menu (Stock LG firmware only).
Type in dialer:
3845#*802# a the secret menu will come up...Then:
1. Go to LTE-Only
2. Modem Settings
3. RAT Selection
4. Select Band 40
Done...
But reverts to default settings after reboot.
BTW KitKat still not available for Indian G2 yet. I read somewhere that it is waiting for approval. But if it has the audio crackling problem, then it's no use updating.
Edit:
4.4.2 KDZ is now available for Indian version
Download 1.6 GB
Flash using offline flashing method found here
OTA will be available soon.
But there will be audio bug where left earphone hisses and crackles.

Yes, this is hidden menu that the LG tech support guy went to when he took remote access to my mobile phone... he also said the same thing- the mobile is capable of Indian 4g but we'll have to wait for LG to release an update before it can be used
