exactly , we never did AMC at all , ever , we only get it serviced when we felt like in past , membrane lasts 2 years easily due to better quality water at my home , its 600-700 TDS generally .

now the concern is , is it good to change 1700 rs pump DC + 600 rs AC TO DC power supply , when also my filters and membrane have almost aged for a change ,which is 3200-3500 rs extra ..............so total would be 1800+700+3200+600(service charge)=6300 rs approx (for a modified system) all Chinese modification

when i can get a new unit for 10200 rs which costs 15-17 k normally plus it has mineral enrichment cartridge system plus warranty 1 year , plus no modification ............and new unit will also last 2 years without any change in filters as my home water supply is good .

what is suggested ? modification or new?

of course new one would be a sensible option.

TDS count of 500+ should be considered as contaminated water .
find more on various sites like this and more
output from RO can be from 01 as minimum to 50 max as per my liking.

So I will soon have my new RO delivered...... But i suspect that whirlpool may not service or install it........ Why?

It's a new model mrp is 17500 rs but snapdeal sold it for 10200 Rs........... Installation guy would ask for bill for free installation and I am concerned that he can create fuss about it.............. Should I get the bill photoshoped?

I am serious, I may lose my 1 year warranty altogether if whirlpool saw my actual bill price

10k for ro looks pretty good deal if its good.
Eureka Forbes is charging 7k just for normal UV one have been trying to buy one for a while now :\

if taxes are paid, service guys have no rights to create fuss.

is TDS value enough to make sure if water is potable or not? i mean what about bacterias and other poisonous stuff in it?

do we have any lab in delhi-NCR where we can get water tested thoroughly?

I think you cannot test anything other than TDS at home.
Check this
What I've heard earlier is Water testing at LAB is a expensive task.

whatever the contamination is you have to understand that it has some size and some mass .

the RO membrane takes care of everything , the stuff you cannot see is ultimately still solid and not like water molecule , so yes it will mostly do clean the water very good way upto 90% of tds is filtered .bacteria too is not small equal to water molecule right?
