If you're actually gonna use just 10-15GB, even bsnl/airtel will suffice..
I am only ready to spent 650+ taxes monthly for now with a minimum speed of 1mbps.So bsnl really falls behind and Airtel is a little expensive with very bad fup at least for me.

I had already submitted the online form in the reliance website yesterday night and today late in the afternoon someone from reliance called me over the phone and asked and verified about my address. Then he said he will check and call back again soon. But no call came afterwards. I wonder what happened there.

I guess they takes around a week at times.
But I thought that was only after signing the subscriber form and after paying the initial advance payments right! But for me i even haven't got to that process.the weird thing was that the guy over the phone said he will check everything and will call back soon.I dont understand whats there to check Since I know that it provides service in the opposite street of mine.

Two things.

1. Reliance won't call back in all likelihood. Look around your area for posters with the salesperson's number or ask at your nearest Rcom store.

2. Presence in the street opposite to yours doesn't mean that you'll have rcom feasibility at your location. :D

They promised to call me back some 3 years back. Haven't done till date. But good luck to you.

If you are planning to go for reliance then do read this bro. Just Cheated Me. | Reliance Broadband | India Broadband Forum
No one will call from reliance you have to only call them after paying so be careful.
Also call the technical person and verify whether it is available really or not. Even for me the pillar or their server is just behind, it is not feasible and I came to know after 10days of payment. The salesman achieved his target and never came back. And I have to wait for 60+days for my 1300/- rs refund amount.

I called up Tikona and they came and checked my area, the tower or pole is just opposite and installed their device and got 100% signal( I check the signal daily twice in their CPE installes) . looked promising, but idk why google DNS is not working. And some video sharing sites like now video.sx is banned I guess. But works of I use a VPN. Don't give payment to any of the above ISP unless you come to know the feasibility is 100% . Which area do you live ?

I live in chennai(mogappair west extension)
I did try calling that reliance tech guy but he seems to not pick up my phone. Also when i tried the reliance toll free number there is no option for a new customer.Since the tech guy is not answering I am starting to assume there is no feasibility in my place or street.
And @Anuraag If I take a tikona demo what should be the things I should look out for making sure that I get proper speed etc ?Any advice?
And finally how much time did they take to activate your tikona broadband and whether did you pay via cheque or online?

@seanbenn just make sure that pole is near or you get full signal on the roof top device. As I said already, the pole was bang opposite to my house and I got full signal. Make sure that there is no object between the Roof top device. Mine is placed at a good height for better reception.

Activation took 1hr 30mins approx. The guy told me 4hrs but it was fast. I made a online payment via Tikona website. Cuz cheque would take 3-4 days more and I did but want to give cash and wanted immediate bb as I was tired of bsnl .. I took 2mbps plan , I get 1.97mbps on speed test, but I don't care cuz my download and streaming videos are quiet smooth.

If you have anything Feel free to ask.
