BSNL Broadband's new revolutionary (lol) broadband plans with minimum 2mbps speeds (lol)

so your justification to get fast unlimited internet speed is to watch streaming video content in hd quality? good luck justifying that to the government.
Well we all know what gets justified and what not. That should be concern of the government not ours.

I do mostly online gaming and getting a Xbox one soon.So a normal digital download on Xbox one is 40-30 GB which on 1 mbps will take 4-5 days.

My cousin in US pays 30$ for 30 mbps while i pay 30$ for 1 MBPS.Why such a big difference. The awnser is simple, government is doing fraud from the start. We all know who out of all the leaders actually does some genuine work for this country. The number would actually be very very few.

I see the petition of net neutrality getting more than 3 lac signatures while an anti FUP petition is still stuck on a mere 5k signatures.Hence the government won't be bothered to do anything about it.

Most people complain about lack of water and food. High speed internet to download movies and stuff comes last in list for most people.
The problems of food and water should've been solved in the pre internet era.Its not like we made our own government just yesterday.

read a bit about how global internet works. most of the content we end up accessing (including this website) is hosted outside india. so you have to fetch data through international pipelines. there are a lot of complicated factors here which i tend to avoid reading into like internet exchanges (nixi is supposed to be an evil entity). it is very unlikely that we would ever get fup free high speed internet. i pay 1250 for 3.5mbps unlimited on reliance and it seems like a miracle to me considering the amount of data i end up consuming every month on it. bandwidth costs money. international bandwidth probably costs a bit more. things could get better if we had more data centers in india hosting content we access and international traffic would not be involved and government could fix the issues with nixi and other related bodies... but things are not looking good.

in the end, the only thing that can improve things in india is competition. i have no idea if you have heard about act broadband. it provide services in three cities right now i believe and in all the three cities both airtel and bsnl have been forced to offer better plans (compared to rest of the country) simply because consumers have a better option to move on to.

a lot of us are hoping that reliance 4g lte would do that on a larger scale. force airtel and bsnl to offer better plans. airtel has already started changing packages to focus on data instead of speeds. killer pricing by mukesh ambani could change things overnight when jio launches later this year (hopefully).

This is what we have. Try to live with it. A country has a government which people deserve. How many of us has put internet to good use ?

I pay 2560 for 3.4 mbps to bsnl broadband till 175 gb and I just have one thing to say. Kaash faridabad me bhi Reliance broadband hota so that atleast I would have got truly unlimited broadband like our admin. :-(

I have tried my level best to download all porn in my teen days so that Internet is porn free ;-). Does this count as good use lol

Normally private companies have something to do when public companies do bad things. Since Reliance Jio Infotech is trying to go pan India, they would definitely try to make look BSNL a sarkari company.

Now it is looks like BSNL will deliver truly unlimited minimum 2mbps speed, and 512kbps is going to history. As per telecom minister tweet it will be minimum 2mbps and minimum means the minimum and 512kbps speed is below minimum and thus 512kbps will deleted and 2mbps will be inserted in stead of 512kbps everywhere.

(N.B. I am still confused)
I think this is exactly what will happen. Well we'll found out in about 20 days. I am on 1445 combo plan. 2 MBPS till 20 GBS post FUP 1 MBps. With taxes I pay around Rs. 1650. I'm hoping for the best :)
