Hi Tech Experts,

I am a resident of Neeti Bagh, New Delhi. I shifted here after my marriage two years ago. While I knew marriage would be a step that involves adjustments, never did I imaged in my worst nightmares that my biggest woe would be a bad internet connection!!!!

So basically we have an Airtel connection. It is the 8Mbps plan. The modem is placed on the ground floor whiIe I am on the first floor. The signal upstairs is extremely weak. We have put a booster but it hardly helps. I tried getting a new Airtel connection for our floor but Airtel says that they do not have new ports in this area.

I have wasted money using dongles ( MTS and Airtel 4G hotspot) but nothing seems to be working at all!!

Also to add to the frustration, our primary Airtel connection has a mind of its own. We have to switch on and off the modem several times for it to work properly.

I am now planning to try out BSNL. Any feedback on how it works? Or any other ISP that is good for this area? Or to get that modem cum router which are powerful?

A feedback on how to solve this problem will help this tortured soul to find some peace. Please note that I do not understand anything too technical so request you to give a feedback which I can easily decipher!

Thanks
PBo

BSNL in Delhi??
Try Hathway but yours seems to be more of a wireless signal issue than isp..go for a wireless router with better range or a repeater

Sorry..My Bad

I have put a repeater but it doesn't help.

Any reason why you suggest Hathway? I particularly want to know about its review for Neeti Bagh area

Your advice is much appreciated

Thanks!

Am putting up in Hauz Khas and have been using Hathway for last couple of years and their services have been pretty decent (they have new 50/100mbps plans now and got some good reviews about them from people in my area).so assumed they might be serving your area too and you too were on a lookout for a separate connection.
Ideally investing in a quality router should take care of your signal woes (am assuming you are using airtels provided).I have subscribed to 2 net connections at my place (other being MTNL).. Have been happy with them toi but can't vouch the same for you as they being sarkari, huge difference in quality of serviceis area wise..
Search for router discussions in this forum you would come across many brands if you want go that route..

Thanks for the reply!

Also wanted to check if there are any positive reviews about the Airtel CPE thing. I had a chat with someone at the Airtel store and recommended going in for that.
