SonyLiv (with new icon) and Prime Video got updated, while Voot Kids and some news app (maybe News18) got forcibly installed yesterday IIRC. Didn't check if there were any others added.

The added one has nothing to do with the technical things. These are just musical radio, mythological and educational apps.

Tute is not useless, not at all, atleast not for school going kids.
TV Punjab Live, is a Punjab based news channel

These may be useless to a particular segment but not for all. One should not decide on the bases of their preferences.
Don't install into the STB if it is useless for anyone. There are many apps present in Google Play store and Apple App store, but people only install the usefull ones as per their own interest.
