Doubt BSNL guys even know what 1GBit means.
(This is a real incident.)Once I went to BSNL office to replace my Router the AE there was fiddling with his PC and made me wait saying that his system is not working properly because of the anti virus.So he call's his tech support and the guy there asks him to uninstall the AV the brilliant AE just deleted the AVG antivirus icon in the desktop and informed the guy on the phone that it was uninstalled at this time after facepalming i offered to help him which he accepted.Uninstalled the AV did some deletion of temp and prefetch files and finally got the system working.Finally received my router after doing this for them. I don't blame the BSNL AE i blame the higher management of BSNL who failed to provide the necessary training.
On topic: 1Gbps cant even dream about it.Must be in India by 2050 with FUP.

here is mine with bsnl , this from 06 or 7 when they had just started with 2mbps plans , so was getting very low speeds and called the cc , some auntie types picked and sounded really pissed that i had disturbed her knitting session, so after 15 mins of explaining her my plan, tel number, modem make , she came up with a gem ; sir please reformat your p.c and call back again " 
@ Singapore nearly everyone out there uses a VPN as in Malaysia or even Korea , where laws are much more tougher , but the laws are tough regarding their own copyrights as in china and Russia and even in India , where we care about our own copyrights and the rest of the world can go &&*8 themselves.
