2.1 Music Speaker system for under ~3.5K

Suggest a good speaker system(sound quality) for under Rs.3500/- . Main purpose: Music (progressive metal & rock --> john petrucci, satriani, vai, etc) & some Movies. Also Bass is main concern for me. I need good bass. Also, my room is quite small so clarity is more important than power(Wattage). (no THX speakers please)I have also heard that altec's ATP3 aren't for music. True?(Whats the current prices of Logitech Z2300? earlier it was 9999/-. If it has come down to ~3K, i would consider it )

Go for whatever model of Logitech you can get within your budget. Logitech is serious value-for-money. If you are in Delhi, go to Nehru Place for the best deal.

2.1 for creative are pretty cheap... logitech speakers. i liked their looks. never heard them though.

They sound better than they look. In fact well within that range, you would get the M30 model, which is nothing great to look at, but gives a very very good sound. A friend of mine has them, and I have heard them plenty. Ver very good for the average user. I personally have the Z-4 system, but that would be out of this price range.

@dragonball, My advice to you is to go to Nehru Place (or equivalent place if not in Delhi) with that much cash, and get the best model of Logitech speakers you can bragain into that price.

Get the Logitech X-230 if you can find them. They were going for 2700 bucks (rip-off campared to the international price as usual) in Jan, so should be a lil cheaper now.

The X-230 are fairly good, but you can get better Logitech models in your budget. The unfortunate thing is that you can't try them out. But I would suggest spending the most you can within your budget.

There is no denying that the ATP3 speakers are probably the most popular 2.1 system in that price range (it used to be more expensive). But personally, I had listened to it a couple of places, and never quite liked it as much as other systems in that price range.If I am not mistaken, M30 is a higher range than X-230.Anyway, as far as my preferences go, it's Logitech > Creative > Altec Lansing.
