22 inch LCD requires a dedicated graphic card?

Hi I am about to buy a 22inch wide screen tft monitor , to connect it with my HP laptop( compaq 6710b) .Would new monitor gona work fine , or i have to by some kind of graphic card first ??also what for graphic card is meant for?thanks in advance.
 
what resolution is the 22 incher? most likely you can work on it fine (web browsing etc) but video/movies/games will be slowwwww escpecially/certainly if its a Full HD screen :)
 
yeap. it would put too much load on the graphic processor on the computer making it all slow.

my primary aim is to use it for browsing internet ............so in this case would display quality of websites gona suffer??

and how sould i check which graphic card i have (if i had one inside my laptop) support 22inch monitor with Resolution of 1680 x 1050 ?
 
I think it will work fine with PM965Express. But things might get slow if you are going to set the recommended resolution:redface:... I'm talking about the overall performance.

You do have some secondary aims... Haven't you?:happy: There will be a significant boost in the performance even if you put the cheapest Graphics Card in the market into it. So buy a graphics card to extract the maximum out of the monitor.

In short: Your GPU on a motherboard usually controls the graphic activities of a computer. It gives instructions to the monitor just like in a conversation... this pixel there, that pixel here......:rofl: So when you set higher resolutions, the GPU on your board will have too much work on its shoulders and will get very hot:@ and the graphics performance will be very poor.. You can feel the heat by simply touching the heatsink on it. And this thing will munch a lot of system memory also. A Graphics card will have a separate GPU and memory on it. Unlike the GPU on the board, the GPU on the Graphics card is very very efficient. It can handle 3D graphics with ease. It wont try to use the memory of your system also since memory is present on the card itself. So everything will work very smoothly... Hope that you now understand the importance of a Graphics Card. Especially when you run a monitor at such high res.
