2G Phone + 3G SIM + USB Data Card

If I take up a 3G Data Plan with above hardware, then can I use my Desktop PC for Internet? Is 3G Phone mandatory?Whats the 3G Internet speed we get on BSNL 3G service?

I am not a "technical" person, but how does one transmit 3G in a non-3G phone?if there is not a 3G modem(or whatever) how will the phone even receive the 3G signal?In short the answer would be a 3G phone is required. Someone correct me if I am wrong...

3G Modems! Are they available in Bangalore? Just checking if I can avoid getting 3G Phone and just use only 3G Modem. Please provide more details on 3G Modem. Whats it price?

It Should be available, I think it would be at a 3000 Rupee Price Point

2g sim in 3g modem will work on both 2g/3g network but 3g sim in 2g phone/modem not possible
