just heard that chetan bhagat is now crying in front of media stating that he was not given any (or enough) credit for the movie. i do not remember but i think the movie began with a thanks to Chetan Bhagat. anyone remember?
thats the point. if the makers of the movie gave credits in the end (or start)... what's the use of making a controversy! the movie is not based on his novel from what i know... only the situations and characters match a bit.
The plot line was the same - people meet at ragging, the first class with definition of machine, the friends separate, Alok (Raju) moves with Venkat (Chatur), Ryan (Rancho) helps Alok's father, Alok rejoins group etc etc. From Alok (Raju) jumping to stealing the papers and calling out from Cherian (Virus's) office - the book came alive on screen
chopra clearly said that they have a contract with bhagat who was paid before the launch of the movie and his name was included in the titles. he cannot sue them for anything now. what he is doing is just bad politics to perhaps get a share from the profits. in the courts, the contract would probably nullify all his claims.
too bad he had said it on camera today that he had called his team in mumbai to upload a copy of the contract on his website. i cannot find that document on his website. it would have been cool to see that actually happen. just clear the things once in for all. btw. bhagat is a douche... i could tell it from his novel. and he has just proved it again.
