thats why the contract was signed beforehand.

what if the movie had tanked? remember hello?

the contract was signed. money was paid. credit was given.

now that the movie is a hit... you cannot expect to be paid more. and 10 lakh is still good enough money.

if he was smart enough, he would have preferred to go for a percentage of the end profits. like most actors do nowadays.

i guess he believed that 3 idiots would flop like hello as well.

as for the joke related to the pencil... i think boman irani gave him the response... what if the pencil breaks while writing... the broken part would float around and could cause machinery problems...

Obviously i implied chetan bhagat was an idiot for signing such a contract . Also the contract was signed on 1 Sept 2005 and Hello was released on 10 October 2008 so i dont that argument applies here .

Mangal Pandey was released in Aug 2005, and during that time the profit sharing ratio was not famous in Indian cinema.

i cant access page 20 of this thread! (using forum defaults)and page 19 has just 2 posts!! (now 3 if u include this post)it shows page 19 of 20 but when clicking on number 20, it takes me back to page 19 looks like some bug

seems like vb4 was actually just a pre-release.. so many bugs and so many things are broken.

heheh they had so many test and beta and RC releases that i was astounded by what i got with vb4. i cannot see any new major feature addition if we ignore the cms and blog component which no one here is using anyways. it has been a disappointing update for me personally.
