I am using AMD 5200+, which is 64 bit processor. Besides, 2 gb ram.So i was wondering what will be better to use, 32 bit XP or 64 bit XP ?Any thoughts ?

u can use 64 bit, but there might be compatability issues for software also u will have to download drivers for 64 bit OS since the 32 bit drivers wont work. so think twice before u put a 64 bit OS

64bit is a hassle especially with drivers and some applications like skype. a friend is using vista 64bit since months. most of the things work. it was painful to set his wifi though.

Never go for 64bit XP .. it sukx, better go for vista 64, it roks.if you have 2 gb ram, i wont suggest you to use 64bit, its better to have atleast 4gb ram.i do also had the fear for 64bit , but trust me... u will be happy in 64bit in terms of performance. although 64bit software & driver is a little problem.. so better search & download all the driver & software before switching to vista 64 :)

64Bits OS are better than 32Bits.. But dont even think of installing it unless you have 4GB ram.. The performance is supperrr....

I got 64 bit installed now. And i had no problem with drivers and all the softwares i use. May be the drivers were already 64 bit compatible for my Asus board. And as for softwares, all worked flawless including skype, except daemon tools for virtual drive. But since i dont have enough ram (4 gb recommended), i'd switch to 32 bit vista.

linux 64bit is easier... i could not make do with it because the stupid wifi card just had no support for linux.

After reading this thread, I am thinking to migrate my Linux Mint 6 x32 version to newly arrived Linux Mint 6 x64 version. What are your opinion Friends?

Migrate to Ubuntu 64-bit.don't support the leecher Mint Community who are sucking all the resources Ubuntu got regarding security fixes, updates, upgrades.just binding all proprietary shits won't make them the best distro. :madness:Ubuntu can be easily capable of doing all this.ask me ,I can give you the /etc/apt/sources.list for that!@admin: did you try nspluginwrapper/ndiswrapper(which uses windows drivers in Linux).let me know what is your wifi card manufacturer/model.
