I see people are mostly confused about 5G availability in their areas. One way to find out whether 5G has been started in your area is to go to network settings and manually searching for networks and if it shows 5G then it has started but not yet available to public. If that's not the case then there's another way to find out. Whenever you're passing by the nearest site to your home you can check for 5G antenna. Whether that be Airtel, Jio or Vi you'll see these 5G Antennas Installed on them. It's up to the operator when they're going to start the service. I'm posting first image of Jio 5G antennas which are installed few days ago near my area (Not useful to me because it's too far away from my home.)

These small new looking box things are N78 5G Antennas. As much as I know currently band N78 is only enabled on them. You can also share pictures of towers near your area and we can have some discussions about whether that's 5G or not.

Update : This image is shared by my own thoughts & information. It might not be 5G node but be a RRU. Few people are uncertain about it so take it with a pinch of salt. Will remove this edit after confirmation. Till then you guys can share yours.

The small dish shaped spheres are MMw backhaul.

Thankfully Motorola shows all the generations (3G, 4G & 5G while selecting 5G as network mode & 2G networks only when selecting 2G mode).

I think it's in stock Android and many custom UI's hide it.

Also @Lolita_Magnum what's that notification like running girl? Is that any samsung specific activity tracking app?

@netomato This is 5G N78 Massive Mimo antenna. That thing you have marked are 4G RRU's.

Yea, it's the "Samsung Health" app. Did you notice any battery difference between using 5G network mode and 4G network mode? I feel, it's likely to drain more battery regardless of if there is a 5G network or not.

@RKhan21 Ohh Thanks for clearing that out. I also got confused in RRU's & 5G Antennas. You know what few days ago these were installed at all Jio sites in my area. So my mind got too biased there.

Now as you've shared that I think it'll be easier to identify for others.

But my telecom friends were ssaying that their battery was draining about 10% more than 4G.
