60 lakh data card users are added in the India mobile data market each year according to the report.:31:

Countries like USA are grappling with increasing mobile data demand and are starting to cap data usage. They are doing this inspite of having a robust fixed BB market.

Can India afford to add such high no. of users with such limited spectrum and mammoth population? Looks a time will soon come when 3G/4G speeds will fall to Edge speeds due to this mad addition and complete ignorance of fixed line broadband.

3g data plans are so heavily capped and exploited, the companies will see massive profits before they face a spectrum or bandwidth crunch. Govt can control bandwidth prices through MTNL and BSNL if they choose to.

yeah the scenario is different in 3G as of now in comp. to edge and evdo. But it is only a matter of time when they will reduce prices and massive influxes will start.

The real problem is the attitude of thinking mobile data as fixed BB services. The govt. wants to go that way, the telcos want that way and the ignorant population also thinks that's the best.

It will be disaster for fixed BB growth and make mobile data services useless.
